Jesus - Ash Wednesday - Lent

…….PLease see wordaloud.co.uk/Lent/kjv…

Lent creeps upon us, 40 days of self-reflection, sacrifice, and renewal, leading up to the Easter celebration. Observed by faithful, this period offers a time to focus on the divine, giving up the comforts of everyday life in favour of church-going, prayer, and self-reflection. A time of spiritual preparation, a chance to delve deeper into the relationship with the Almighty.

Origin of Lent can be traced through ages, a Christian tradition modelled after Jesus’ fast in the wilderness. It has evolved over time, now a demonstration of devotion through sacrifice, giving up that which is held dear. A way to imitate the sacrifice and devotion to the divine.

Lent strengthens the faithful – their spiritual journey and deepening their connection with the divine. A chance to escape from the distractions of life, to focus on what is truly important. The act of sacrifice, giving up that which is cherished, teaches reliance on the divine and gratitude for all that is given. Lent is a time of renewal, a reflection on the past, and a look towards the future with renewed purpose
